The hotel is ideally located on Via della Collegiata, directly opposite Locarno’s SBB railway station. Lake Maggiore is just a two-minute walk away, while the famous Piazza Grande can be reached in approximately eight minutes on foot.
Only four minutes from the hotel, the funicular railway to Madonna del Sasso provides access to the cable car to Cardada (1,340 m) and the chairlift to Cimetta (1,670 m), offering breathtaking panoramic views over Lake Maggiore and the surrounding Alps.
The train station, bus stops, and boat terminal are all within easy walking distance, making it simple to explore the region without a car. Whether you wish to visit Locarno’s charming old town, enjoy the lakefront promenade, or venture into the surrounding valleys, everything is conveniently accessible.
Guests arriving by car via the A2 motorway should take the Bellinzona Sud – Lago Maggiore exit, follow the signs to Locarno, and continue towards the Muralto–Minusio exit. The hotel offers a limited number of parking spaces (CHF 12 per day, subject to availability and advance reservation).
The hotel’s central location makes it an ideal base for attending the region’s most popular events, including the Locarno Film Festival, Moon&Stars, JazzAscona, Locarno on Ice, and the Camellia Festival. It is also the perfect starting point for excursions to the Verzasca, Maggia, and Centovalli valleys, as well as boat trips on Lake Maggiore.
